Lengua materna
"What is going on with Nora?", Estela, a housewife in her sixties, asks openly to her forty-something daughter Ruth, who grabs the chance and admits that Nora is her partner and that they have been living together for 14 years. Estela, not ready for the news, suffers a blood pressure drop, but she recovers swiftly and even tries to investigate by herself what it means to be a lesbian, where people her daughter's age go out and so forth. That's a world she doesn't know and in the end, far from rejecting it, she tries to fit in with normality. Estela wants to see the two girls at home with new eyes and asks more questions without realizing that Ruth and Nora are not going through their best moments. The daughter lives the curiosity of her mother like a meddling, but after the seism caused by her coming out —and some other collateral earthquakes— the relationship between mother and daughter will be reinforced.
