Born naked
"Define 'lesbian'; draw a lesbian; name three famous lesbians; and list three specific characteristics of a lesbian". These are some of the questions suggested in the documentary Born Naked, by Andrea Esteban, a 26-year-old Spanish woman who lives in London and has decided to film the everyday live of the lesbian community in Madrid, London and Berlin. A unpretentious documentary, direct and refreshing, that bring up some issues and makes us question ourselves, not only from the point of view of female homosexuality but from today's society as well. It questions the roles and stereotypes of lesbianism that have been with us from the beginning and are subjected to the invisibility of lesbian identity. Those efforts focus on labels. femme, butch, lesbian chic, lipstick lesbian, etc., when the truth is much simpler: two women who want each other and want to be together.
