Immersed in the nervous desperation of Havana, Una noche tells the story of Raúl, a young Cuban boy that dreams of escaping to Miami. When he is accused of assault, his only choice is to fulfil his dream. In order to do so, he asks his friend Elio to leave everything behind and help him to escape. Elio's compromise and love are tested when he debates between protecting his twin sister and his own desire to run away with Raúl. A frenetic escape, full of hope and tension, that is transmitted to the audience in a distressed and real way.
The lack of stereotypes, of usual references from foreign movies that describe Cuba and the real-life language used in its script make this movie of extraordinary value, aesthetic and ethic, due to the lack of pretensions and crudeness that shows the active power of love among misery and lack of freedom.
