Kerron Sinulle Kaiken
Open up to Me was a must-see at all European film festivals this year. The movie is about a transsexual who reveals herself to be a true heroine. Maarit is a beautiful, clever and confident woman who, after a sex change operation, is struggling to find a stable relationship with her environment, her job, her family and with love. This search becomes even more complicated when she meets and falls in love with Sami, a soccer coach, respected teacher and parent.

The struggle to overcome social prejudice does not stop Maarit from facing her difficulties all while keeping a positive and optimistic life view. She is just a human being who is seeking acceptance and happiness. This is an unprecedented story and performance.
