My Prairie Home
My Prairie Home is a sincere and simple tribute to Rae Spoon. This transgender Canadian folk singer is also one of our FIRE!! heroes. Chelsea McMullan, director, shows us an intimate and sensitive story about Rae's history, music and life. The story has been built by gathering Rae's performances and interviews and it describes a troubled childhood in the middle of a Pentecostal family obsessed with religion and disturbed by the presence of a violent father. The abuses at home and at school marked the personality of this lovely, tender and sensitive character.

McMullan seduces us with the emotional way she captures the music and the grand, Canadian prairie landscapes. These bold images give the title to this essential, alternative and independent documentary.
