Marco Berger is one of the favourite directors of FIRE!! After dazzling us with his movies Plan B and Ausente, he returns with Hawaii, a film where he takes pleasure in the beauty of silence and of slow, sinuous seduction. Once again, the director shows his great skill in making the audience fall in love with his characters, through the intelligence of their dialogue and the reveal of their skin. Simplicity and beauty in its pure state.
Hawaii tells the story of Eugenio, a young man spending the summer taking care of his aunt and uncle's house while seeking inspiration for a new script. Martin, an old acquaintance from his childhood, appears on the scene and volunteers to repair the big, ramshackle house. Their relationship builds from comradeship to something more through conversations about their past that reveal their repressed desires. A delightful game of power and seduction.
