What would he be today, the body of Don Afonso Henriques, the first king of Portugal and tutelary figure, subject to subsequent mystifications throughout the history of Portugal?

João Pedro Rodrigues was born in the Portuguese capital in 1966 and graduated from the Lisbon Film School, his public film career began in the 54 Venice Film Festival with the short movie Parabéns!, which won the Special Jury Prize. That same year, he presented the documentary films Esta é a minha casa and Viagem à Expo. In 2000, he directed his first feature, O fantasma, screened in official competition at the 57th Venice Film Festival. In 2005, Odete won several awards and, in 2007, the Cannes Festival Cinéfondation workshop selected his work Morrer como um homem, released in 2009.
