Pim is a quiet and disciplined kid, with an inner life full of fantasies, who lives with Yvette, his wild mother, in a small village on the Belgian coast. In that world, almost surreal, the characters are in search of their most secret desires, very often contradictory. Young Pim is deeply in love with his neighbour Gino, while his mother dreams of leaving everything behind and travelling around the world.

North Sea Texas has the extraordinary courage to tell a love story between gay teens with a happy ending. We are accustomed to the darkness that comes with sexual awakening, its social and emotional rejection, but this film is a breath of fresh air and hope. The young director Bravo Defume has been able to deliver a fascinating retro cinematography and visual style, as a result of his prior experience in the Belgian world of music videos and electronics, and has achieved a brilliant, emotional and original work.
