FIRE!! MOSTRA 2017: CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS

You can now send your films for the selection of the 2017 edition of FIRE !! With an online screener sent at mostra@lambdaweb.org, or through Click for Festivals or Moviebeta or FestHome or FilmFreeway, or sent by post to Casal Lambda. And the Audience Awards go to…

Apart from the awards given by the direction team of the festival, the Audience Honorary Awards have gone this year to:

- Best Feature: Stories of Our Lives, by Jim Cuchu

- Best Documentary: Hockney, by Randall Wright

And the winners are…

The honorary awards of the Festival have been attributed this year to the following films:

- Best Long Feature Film: La Belle Saison

- Best Documentary Film: Suited

- Special mention: Flores de Mazapan

- Best Short Film: Todo Saldrá Bien Pingüino

For reasons beyond our responsibility, we unfortunately have to cancel the party scheduled for Friday, July the 8th at Bestial Beach Club... We present our apologies, and we hope to celebrate hopefully this festival party on the beach!

The FIRE !! It will be in La Garriga. Thursday July 7th at 19:30h in theaters Alhambra, with the FIRE!! en curts. A very special session featuring the most beautifully-made and thought-provoking shorts; optimistic, introspective, funny... In short, everything that we want FIRE!! to be!

Orineted presentation by Nasij - ACATHI

Wednesday July 6, at 20: 30h, you can see in FIRE!! Oriented, documentary directed by Jake Witzenfeld .The session will be presented by Daniel Ahmed, Nasij (ACATHI). Nasij is a project based in Barcelona, though it can extend to the rest of Spain. It is a physical and virtual network established to combat Islamophobia through dialogue, an inclusive vision of Islam, from a decolonial, intersectional, feminist and queer perspective.

What’s Between Us this weekend.

Sunday July 3, at 20:30, you can not miss the film What’s Between Us by the director Claudia Lorenz. What’s Between Us is a delicate film, simple yet tremendously authentic in its use of intimate, subtle everyday scenes to portray the decline of a respectable family and to champion sincerity and recognition.

Händl Klaus, director of Tomcat (Teddy Awards, Best Movie, in Berlinale), will be present at the screening on Saturday 2nd of July, at 22.30 pm, to present her. Oliver Ducastel and Geoffrey Couet, director and actor of Théo et Hugo dans le même bateau, will be present at the screening on Friday 1st of July, at 22.30 pm.

Pop Air on FIRE!! Party

FIRE!! 2016 celebrates the POP AIR on FIRE!! , a party at Sala Tango on Friday, 1sr of July, from 00.30 pm. This year FIRE!! teams up with Pop Air! Fire with air, film with music, to have fun at the hairiest, queerest party in the city.

Inauguration of FIRE!! with Un amor de verano (La Belle saison), in the presence of Catherine Corsini!

FIRE!! officialy opens on Thursday, June the 30th! And we do it big with the extraordinary film Un amor de verano (La Belle saison), a great love story between two young women in the post-revolutionary Paris of the early 70's. Director, Catherine Corsini, and her wife and producer of the film, Elisabeth Pérez, will make us the honor to introduce us this movie!

The FIRE !! It will be one again in Terrassa! Wednesday June 29th at 22h in theaters Catalunya, with the film Girls Lost, Swedish director Alexandra-Therese Keining.

Screening "Maricones hasta el final" at Cinema Zumzeig, Tuesday the 28th at 9 pm

Come to discover the gayest Barcelona filmmakers of the 70s... The “5 QK's”, with their subversive movies, revolutionized the Catalan gay scene, and were one of the main elements of the Barcelona “Movida” during the seventies and the eighties, with Ocaña and Nazario. With "Maricones hasta al final", on Tuesday the 28th at 9 pm at Zumzeig Cinema, you will see some of their shorts and an extrat of the documentary currently being prepared on them by filmmaker Ricardo González.

With an extraordinary series dedicated to the sensuality of the human body and the diversity of its expressions in the world. La Casa del cine is on FIRE !!, Monday the 27, with a screening of short movies

FIRE!! is for the first at Casa del Cine! On Monday, June the 27th at 9 pm, you’ll see there the best shorts of FIRE!! selected for "El Día Más Corto", in December 2015. In Plaza Joanic, 6, come to discover this unique film school... And who knows, maybe you’ll want to study cinema there?

Educational Program at Fnac Triangle

Educational Program at Fnac Triangle Educational Program at Fnac Triangle, on June the 27, 28 and 29. At 6.30 pm on the 27th, and at 6 pm on the 29th. Three days with panel discussions and public participation around the following topics: the new trans activisms, LGBT criminalization in Europem 40 years of Casal Lambda, and the LGBT Teachers.

Open Air FIRE!! with Two 4 One

As usual, FIRE!! presents an open air screening in the Raval, within the film Cine a la Puttanesca, by Raval Verd. It will be this year with the Canadian comedy Two 4 One, and its insemination imbroglio. It will be on Sunday the 26th at 9 pm, Plça. Salvador Seguí 1, Filmoteca.

“East of Eden” starts again with a Japanese night, at Cinema Girona

On Saturday the 25th, we resume "East of Eden", a cycle of Asian LGBT film in collaboration with Casa Asia, which was interrupted two years ago, in the absence of a space in its new facilities. The cycle will now be hosted by the Girona Cinema! And we start on Saturday by a Japanese Night with two screenings: at 8 pm, with Starting Over, by Takashi Nishihara, and at 10 pm with West North West , by Takuro Nakamura.

NO MORE BULLYING!!

On Wednesday June 15, Ada Colau, mayoress of Barcelona City Council, will present Diversitat en Curt, a project of 5 short films about affective diversity and against homophobia in schools, directed by Isabel Coixet, Miguel Bosch, Carla Subirana, Isaki Lacuesta and Judith Colell, in selflessly and solidary way, to fight the scourge of bullying. Five short to be screened during FIRE!! and to be offered to schools as educational material accompanied by a Teaching Guide.
