Like You Mean it
The film debut of renowned indie musician Alex Anwandter, inspired by the true story of Daniel Zamudio, who was brutally murdered by neo-Nazis in March 2012, a case that shocked all Chile. Nunca vas a estar solo tells the story of Juan, a lonely man struggling to survive as the manager at a mannequin factory. When his son, Pablo, is viciously beaten up by a group of homophobic youths, Daniel must decide between becoming a partner at the company he manages or paying the high cost of obtaining medical treatment for his only child. This dilemma will lead him to discover that violence and marginalisation in a society that is sick affect all its different strata.

An ode to the love of a father for his son, and a reminder of the enormous pressure to obey the fixed rules that govern masculinity.
